Clinton N’Jie may remain a mystery to Tottenham fans, with the Cameroonian international loaned out after just one season at the club.
He barely featured due to injury and the competitive nature of the squad, and was loaned out to Marseille as part of the deal which brought Georges-Kevin N’Koudou to Spurs.
N’Jie is yet to make his first start for Marseille, making his second substitute appearance last night in a match against his former club Lyon.

He had a chance to become a hero and win over fans after being put through on goal injury time but rushed his effort and prodded it wide, when he could even have squared it to striker Bafetimbi Gomis.
It is early days for the attacker, who is looking to relaunch his career after a disappointing 12 months, but early on it appears Marseille fans are not impressed.

So it’s fair to say N’Jie has some work to do in order to win over Marseille supporters after his miss last night, but time is on his side, with a whole season ahead to make up for it.
At present though he is still restricted to cameo appearances off the bench, limiting his sharpness, and a goal last night could have accelerated his path to a starting spot.
After a year largely on the sidelines at Spurs, the youngster needs to play regularly if he is going to get back on track, especially if he is hoping to convince the Premier League side from afar that he is worth a second shot.
