Burnley winger Marley Blair has signed a professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old joined Burnley earlier in the season after leaving Liverpool’s academy and has produced some impressive performances, as reported by the club’s official website.

An exciting prospect, Blair, who can also play as an attacking midfielder if required, will be hoping to break into the Burnley first-team in due course but for now his intention is to continue making a major impact at youth level.

Blair has signed an 18-month deal with Burnley and should become increasingly involved with the U23 side having already featured at that level this campaign.

It is for the U18s that Blair has made the most significant impact so far, though, as he has scored three goals in his last three games for the side coached by former Everton striker Danny Cadamarteri.

It will be intriguing to see how Blair develops during his time at Burnley and the early signs are certainly rather encouraging as far as his chances of eventually making a first-team breakthrough are concerned.

Blair is a confident player and will doubtless be determined to push on further after securing his short-term future with Burnley.
