The Liverpool midfielder has been linked with Aston Villa.
According to the Liverpool Echo, Aston Villa are interested in signing Marko Grujic on loan in January, and the Liverpool player would be a fine addition to Steve Bruce’s side if he can get a deal over the line.
Grujic arrived at Anfield with a big reputation after impressing for his former club Red Star Belgrade as a teenager. However he has struggled for sufficient game time on Merseyside and needs a temporary spell elsewhere to get back to his best.
The 21-year-old is an impressive talent and his ability in the centre of the park would allow Villa to rotate, with the games coming thick and fast in the second half of the campaign.
Villa have been reliant on Glenn Whelan and Conor Hourihane for much of the campaign and, while they have impressed as Bruce’s men have surged up the table, they cannot be relied on to maintain that form for the entire season.
Whelan in particular will need rest and Grujic could step in effectively. The young Serbian will also have a point to prove after failing to make his mark at Liverpool thus far, and he is far more than just a holding midfielder.
The Villa target’s versatility means he can operate in a more attacking role if required and he scored and created on a regular basis back in his homeland.
Villa have impressed with their action in the loan market since Bruce took charge and bringing in Grujic would be another to add to the plus column.
