Liverpool’s Marko Grujic has reportedly rejected a move to Middlesbrough.

According to the London Evening Standard, Liverpool midfielder Marko Grujic has rejected a move to Championship club Middlesbrough after also snubbing Cardiff City.
Grujic, 22, flourished with Red Star Belgrade in his native Serbia to earn a 2016 move to Liverpool, but he has found first-team opportunities hard to come by at Anfield.
The midfielder has played just 14 first-team games for Liverpool, and spent the season half of last season on loan at Cardiff City, helping the Bluebirds win promotion to the Premier League.
Despite his impressive spell with Cardiff, the London Evening Standard report that he snubbed a return to South Wales last week – and has rejected a loan move to Middlesbrough too.
Boro are desperate for loan reinforcements having seen first-team regulars Ben Gibson, Adama Traore and Patrick Bamford move on in the latter stages of the transfer window for a combined fee of around £40million.
Manager Tony Pulis is keen on midfield reinforcements despite losing a centre back, winger and striker, with Everton’s Muhamed Besic believed to be a top target after his loan spell last season.

It now seems that Middlesbrough are struggling to land two midfielders from Merseyside, with Grujic seemingly uninterested in a move to the Riverside Stadium – and that leaves his future up in the air.
With playing time at Liverpool unlikely, Grujic may have to consider a loan move elsewhere, with a switch to Europe possibly on the cards as he bats away Championship interest.
