New Liverpool signing Marko Grujic has told Goal that the club are very popular in his native Serbia.
The midfielder is one of seven new signings at Anfield this summer as Jurgen Klopp has overhauled his squad.
Grujic was the first signing of the German’s reign, originally agreeing a move back in January.

He has had to wait until this summer to feature for the Reds though, with Klopp personally attending a hearing to secure the Serbian a work permit.
During that time he watched his new team reach the Europa League final, and says watching that in his native Serbia showed him how popular his new club is in his homeland.
“Liverpool are very popular over the world, and it’s like that in Serbia,” he told Goal.
“When it was the Europa League final, I went to watch it at a bar in Serbia and Liverpool fans all crowded around me and it was like 2000 of them!”

It remains to be seen if Grujic can go on and establish himself in the Liverpool first team next season.
The Liverpool midfield is currently highly competitive to say the least, with several stars all vying for limited places.
Klopp has shown his willingness to give youth a chance though and Grujic will be hoping to benefit from the same kind of faith next season and beyond.
