Marko Arnautovic’s agent has seemingly suggested that he could look to leave West Ham United in the future.
Marko Arnautovic’s brother and agent has told Austrian newspaper Kurier that it is possible that he could look to leave West Ham in the near future, and suggested that he came very close to leaving during the summer.
Arnautovic is the Hammers’ talisman. It is incredible to think that one year ago, he was still several weeks away from scoring his first goal for the Irons.
But this season, he is in tremendous form. He has scored five goals in 10 Premier League appearances for Manuel Pellegrini’s men. However, it appears that there is a chance that he could soon be pushing for a move.
Danijel Arnautovic has suggested that the forward came close to leaving during the previous window. And while he insisted that the 29-year-old loves West Ham and the fans, he hinted that he could have his sights set higher.
“He’s a big part of West Ham’s team but I think it’s possible to tease out more of him. For that to happen, he has to play for a top team. Marko is ready for the next step. A player like him should not play against relegation. He should play for the international spots.”
When asked if he could look to leave in future, his brother replied: “That’s possible. It was already very, very close this last summer.”
Arnautovic is reaching a stage of his career where fewer teams are going to be willing to take a chance on him. But it would be a massive blow for West Ham to lose him based on his form since scoring that winner against Chelsea last December.
The Irons have looked a lot less dangerous when Arnautovic is not in the side. And replacing him during a future window could prove to be an incredibly difficult task for Pellegrini and the Hammers board if he decides that he wants to go.
