Javier Hernandez is a perfect striker says West Ham’s new signing Marko Arnautovic.
West Ham United burst into life in the summer transfer window in the past two weeks, when they completed two blockbuster signings in the form of Marko Arnautovic and Javier Hernandez.
Arnautovic, 28, joined the Hammers from Stoke City on a five-year deal for a club-record fee of £25 million, that could rise up to £30 million when add-ons are taken into account, as reported by The Guardian.
The Mexican made his name as a class striker during his time at Manchester United. The 29-year-old striker from Guadalajara scored 59 goals in 157 games for the Red Devils in all competitions.
Arnautovic has hailed the Mexican as “the perfect striker”. He adds that the Mexican is a “very good striker,” and hopes that Chicharito will score a lot of goals for the Hammers.
“Chicharito has had a very good career. He was at Man United and then when he left, he went to Real Madrid and then Leverkusen. He is the perfect striker,” Arnautovic said, as quoted by Sky Sports.
“You cannot say anything about Hernandez because we know he’s a very good player and we’re happy that he join us now.
“We hope he’ll score a lot of goals like he did in the Bundesliga, Man United, Real Madrid or even for Mexico.
“I will be happy when he’s here in the next days and when he joins us on the training pitch. Like I said we cannot wait to get the season started.”
Hernandez scored 39 goals during his two seasons in the Bundesliga. He is also the all time leading goal scorer for his country with 48 goals to his name.
