Instead Arnautovic committed his long-term future to the Britannia Stadium, signing a new long-term deal in July.
Everton moved on and signed Yannick Bolasie from Crystal Palace and Stoke fans were left exalted by their powerful attacker’s decision to remain with the Potters.
The Stoke player is currently away on international duty with Austria and has been speaking about his decision to remain at the club.
He told Salzburg24 a specific story behind the decision:
“A few people have hung on my door where I love ‘please don’t leave!’.
“This was an outstanding action.”

It seems the love of the Potters fans played a big role in keeping the talented 27-year-old at Stoke for the foreseeable future.
The former Werder Bremen star has undoubtedly become a fan favourite since his move to Stoke in 2013.
With the support of the Stoke fans, he should continue to be a Potters hero for plenty more years to come.
