Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, former Liverpool defender Mark Wright has been sharing his view on Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

It’s almost impossible to say a bad word about Klopp at Liverpool. The German has led the club to dizzying heights, and he’s done so while also becoming one of the most beloved figures in Anfield history.

Wright says that everyone he speaks to at the club loves Klopp, but he didn’t fail to mention that the gaffer can be ruthless when he needs to be as well.

What’s been said?

Wright gave his view on Klopp.

“Do you know what Dave? what comes from within the club and what comes out. Everybody loves him. Everyone and every person, from the kit man to the tea lady. He’s got that really smiley and beamy face, but at the moment he looks a bit dodgy without his glasses on!” Wright said.

“As well as being this nice man, he’s so organised and so tough as well. He goes for them, and the biggest example was last season with Shaqiri when he scored one and made one, but he took him off at half-time because he wasn’t doing enough to see out the game, and we all said ‘wow’ there it is, there’s the ruthless streak.”

Perfect mix

As a top-level manager, you have to balance being likeable and being tough, and Klopp has perfected that blend.

He seems to really get on with his players, and the fans absolutely love him, but when push comes to shove, everyone knows not to get on the wrong side of him.

He’s a figure that commands respect, but he also comes across as very approachable.

Klopp has the perfect personality for managing a club of this stature, and Liverpool fans know just how lucky they are to have this man at the helm.
