Nottingham Forest boss Mark Warburton tried to sign Massimo Luongo while in charge at Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers.
According to a report in The Times, Nottingham Forest are set to make a move for Queens Park Rangers midfielder Massimo Luongo this summer – just 12 months after Mark Warburton tried to sign the Australian international at Glasgow Rangers.
Get West London announced Rangers’ intention to bring Luongo to Ibrox in 2016, but Warburton failed with his bid that time around.

The Forest boss will hope that it is a case of second time lucky though, and a deal could be more possible now he is at the City Ground.
Rangers struggled to finance a deal for Luongo, but Forest should have no such issues.
Luongo may also be keen to move to Forest, as he expressed some doubts over the role he had been given at Loftus Road by Ian Holloway towards the end of last season.

“I’ve always wanted to get involved in more goals, at the moment I think the manager is playing me in a deeper role to have that security because I’m playing next to Ryan Manning who is really young and hasn’t had many appearances,” Luongo said to Get West London in April.
Whether Warburton would see Luongo as a more advanced midfielder at Forest remains to be seen.
Forest’s only singing so far this summer has been to bring in Jason Cummings from Hibernian.
