Mark Warburton has confirmed that he wants Ben Brereton to stay at Nottingham Forest for the long-term.

Brereton has broken into Forest’s first-team this season, despite only being 17-years-old.

The striker’s form has not gone unnoticed, though, with a number of Premier League clubs now linked.

Liverpool and Manchester United have both been said to be tracking Brereton in recent times (Nottingham Post).

However, Warburton insists that he does not want to lose the prospect – as he believes the young attacker has a very bright future at the City Ground.

Warburton has already shown his faith in Brereton, by starting him during his first match in charge of Forest.

The former Rangers boss gave Brereton the nod to feature from the beginning in Forest’s last match against Derby County, despite having some more experienced options available to him.

Brereton could start again for Forest in their next match, which comes against Preston North End tomorrow.
