Rangers manager Mark Warburton has told The Scottish Sun that Lee Wallace ‘will be okay’ after pulling out of the Scotland squad.
Scotland hammered Malta 5-1 this evening, but one player who wasn’t involved was Gers captain Wallace, who had pulled out through injury.

The 29-year-old left back had worked hard to get back into the Scotland squad having helped Rangers win a number of promotions from the fourth tier back into the top flight of Scottish football.
After a decent start to the season, Wallace was named in Scotland’s squad to face Malta, but pulled out of the side a matter of days ago with an injury.

Wallace’s dropping out of the squad led to major questions from Rangers fans about the skipper’s injury status, especially with the huge Old Firm derby against Celtic coming up next weekend.
Wallace was out of Rangers’ squad as they beat Linfield 7-0 in a friendly on Saturday afternoon, and manager Warburton was asked about the situation after the final whistle.

Warburton eased the fears of Rangers fans, telling The Scottish Sun that he was out of the Scotland squad as a precaution, as he simply wasn’t ready to train, play or travel – and the caution over his fitness means that he should now be available to play against Celtic on Saturday.
“Lee will be okay,” said Warburton. “The Scotland medical team were very good. It was precautionary. He wasn’t right to train and if he wasn’t right to train he wasn’t right to play and travel.”
“He’s very keen to get into the international set up, there is no lack of desire from his part but it was the right thing to do,” he added.
