Nottingham Forest manager Mark Warburton has told the club’s official website that he was impressed with the performance of Ben Brereton against Huddersfield Town on Saturday afternoon.

Forest returned to winning ways in the Championship with a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield at home in the Championship.

Brereton started the match and played for the entire 90 minutes, and Warburton was pleased with the performance of the 17-year-old forward.

“Ben is an outstanding young player,” Warburton told Forest’s official website. “He is 17-years-old, but what a performance in terms of maturity, quality, desire, commitment, awareness, vision – he had everything today and I am delighted for him. He will be the first to say it is about the team though.

“We all know how random this game can be, but he can go to the very highest level. To show that composure and desire, to be fearless, and the cross he put in for Jamie Ward just before half time was a world class delivery. He will only get better and better.”

Brereton is a very talented and promising young forward, and some of his performances for Forest in the Championship this season have been impressive.

The 17-year-old is still very young and is learning, but the signs are looking very positive.

The win against promotion-chasing Huddersfield has given Forest a good chance of escaping the drop to League One at the end of the season.

Forest are 19th in the Championship table at the moment with 45 points from 41 matches, five points above the relegation zone.
