Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are currently in third place in the Scottish Premiership table.
Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton has refused to suggest that it would be unacceptable for his side to finish third this season in the Scottish Sun.
Rangers are in a battle for second place with Aberdeen, and they have come under heavy criticism this past week.
Rangers were beaten 4-1 by Hearts in their last outing, and their display was hugely disappointing.
Aberdeen can now move ahead of Rangers in the Scottish Premiership standings, if they win their game in hand.
And when asked whether Rangers could accept finishing below Aberdeen and finishing in third this season, Warburton said: “Unacceptable? We want to finish second.
“We wouldn’t be happy if that happened and I’ll answer that later in the season.
“But right now we want to finish as high as we possibly can.
“We respect the challenge of clubs like Hearts and Aberdeen and St Johnstone, absolutely. But our focus is Rangers.”
The best place Rangers can finish in this season is surely second now, as Celtic are currently 25 points clear at the top of the table.
Rangers simply have not been able to compete with their Glasgow rivals during their first season back in the top tier.
Rangers are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Ross County at Ibrox.
