The report has claimed that Rangers have told Jones that he can leave the Gers in the summer transfer window.
Warburton’s QPR are among a number of clubs who are interested in signing the Northern Ireland international, according to the report.
Stoke City, Blackburn Rovers, Preston North End, Barnsley and the winger’s former club Middlesbrough want him as well, it has been claimed.
Rangers exit?
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has told HeraldScotland that he is unaware of speculation on the future of Jones which was first published in The Daily Record last week, adding that the winger has “trained hard and been focused”.
The 25-year-old struggled to make an impact at Rangers last season due to injury problems and competition for places.
It would be premature to sell the winger after just one year, and with Rangers aiming to stop bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic from winning the Scottish Premiership title this season for the 10th season in a row, they do need a strong squad.
