It has been claimed that the summer arrival at Ibrox could miss the remainder of Rangers’ season.
Rangers manager Mark Warburton
Rangers manager Mark Warburton has told a press conference, as quoted by the club’s official Twitter account, that the length of Niko Kranjcar’s injury lay-off cannot yet be determined.
Kranjcar suffered a freak injury in training last week and could miss the remainder of the campaign, according to an early report in the Scottish Sun.
The Croatian, who arrived as a free agent from the New York Cosmos in July, has scored three goals and assisted another three in 15 outings for Rangers so far.

However, it is not yet known if Warburton will be forced to look for reinforcements during the winter transfer window.
“Niko had some inflammation on the knee,” the 54-year-old was quoted as saying. “He will see a specialist for another scan in eight-to-10 days. Then we can see how he is.
Rangers, who suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of bitter rivals Celtic in the semi-final of the Scottish Cup this weekend, return to Premiership action against St. Johnstone on Wednesday.
And Warburton confirmed that defender Danny Wilson will also miss the Saints’ visit.

“Wednesday is too soon for Danny Wilson. Jordan Rossiter is working hard with the physios,” he added.
Among the candidates to replace Kranjcar, should the Croatian be ruled out, is Josh Windass, who was making only his seventh appearance for Rangers at Hampden Park.
The 22-year-old admitted earlier that his display against Celtic was his worst since arriving at Ibrox in the summer.
