The 21-year-old has impressed for Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers, says Mark Warburton.
Rangers boss Mark Warburton has told The Scottish Sun that Barrie McKay need not dwell on the disappointment of not being named in the latest Scotland squad.
Gordon Strachan’s side head down South for a World Cup qualifier with England at Wembley on November 11.
Rangers captain Lee Wallace was named in Strachan’s squad, but talented midfielder McKay was was left out.

The 21-year-old has been impressive for the Gers this season, starting nine of their 11 Scottish Premiership outings.
But Warburton has offered a reminder of his age, claiming that it is easy to forget how young he is by virtue of how talented he is at the same time.

“Will I have a word with Barrie? I think we tend to forget, because he performs at a high level, that he is just 21,” he told The Scottish Sun.
“He is a young player and we need to make sure we look after him.”
The young Scot is yet to score in any of his 10 Premiership games this season, though he has set up two goals.
With Niko Kranjcar ruled out for the season, there is an extra responsibility resting with McKay to be a creative spark for Rangers, but he seems to have the talent to fulfill expectations in that regard.
His omission from Strachan is not a terrible thing from Warburton’s perspective. The 54-year-old manager needs his best players available and there is always the risk of injury on international duty.
