Rangers will take on Celtic at Ibrox in the Old Firm derby on Sunday afternoon.
Former Rangers manager Warburton, who is now in charge of Queens Park Rangers in the Championship in England, has backed the Gers to pick up all three points from the Scottish Premiership game.
Warburton has backed Gerrard’s team to win the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Celtic have won the league title in Scotland for the past eight seasons and have also clinched the domestic treble in the last three years.
Warburton told Sky Sports: “I believe this year is Rangers’ year. I think last year was maybe a bit too early and this year is Rangers’ time. They spent wisely, the squad is stronger, and I really believe this is Rangers’ title.
“You are going to have two very talented teams come together on a great stage and you will be keen to put your marker down first. I believe Rangers are in a really strong position.”
The QPR manager added: “There will be ups and downs in the season but I think this is Rangers’ year.”

Advantage Rangers?
Rangers will have the advantage over Celtic this weekend, as the Old Firm derby is at Ibrox.
With a strong and passionate crowd behind them, the Rangers players will feel that they can beat any team, and the Gers will head into the Old Firm derby high on confidence.
However, Celtic remain a strong team, and the Hoops will not be scared to take the game to Rangers at Ibrox.
