Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to return to the top flight again next season.
Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton has admitted to the Daily Record that he still does not know enough about Scottish Premiership sides yet.
Rangers are set to return to Scotland’s top flight next term, and they are trying to build up their knowledge base.
Warburton has already got members of his backroom staff scouting Scottish Premiership teams, but he wants to be more informed by the time the competitive season starts.
“Sometimes I’ll go and watch Premiership games next season but I believe people go to matches sometimes for the sake of it, to tick a box,” Warburton said.
“I am not talking about any one individual but often I think: ‘What are you seeing there you can’t see elsewhere?’ We have access to so many platforms and games.
“There is no way you are benefitting from doing that. We don’t yet know enough about the other Premiership teams but our analysts are already looking at all the games, working on teams that haven’t changed personnel and have retained their core squad. ”
Rangers have already outlined their ambitions for their first season back in the top flight through their transfer business.
Warburton’s men have already made eight signings this summer, as they bolster their squad.
Rangers earned promotion with a fairly thin squad, but they have been quick to add depth this time around.
Rangers have added a number of experienced players to their group – with Niko Kranjcar and Joey Barton amongst the more high profile arrivals – while they have continued to target young talent, too.
Rangers’ competitive season starts on 6th August against Hamilton at Ibrox.
