Mark Viduka suggested on talkSPORT (8:39am, September 11, 2020) that Leeds United need to sign a top-class finisher and a playmaker.
The former Leeds forward made the comments while looking ahead to the Whites’ campaign in the Premier League this season.
The West Yorkshire outfit will feature in the top flight of English football for the first time since 2004.
Viduka believes that Leeds need to sign a quality striker as well as a number 10.
Viduka said on talkSPORT (8:39am, September 11, 2020): “I think they need a really top-class finisher and maybe another 10 to thread the balls through.”
Good advice?
Leeds have signed Rodrigo in the summer transfer window, and one suspects that the Spain international will share the goalscoring burden with Patrick Bamford.
Rodrigo can operate as a striker or as a winger, but the Spaniard is not very prolific, and the Whites could do with another new striker so that head coach Marcelo Bielsa can have three senior and established players to play upfront in his squad.
Pablo Hernandez is the creator-in-chief at Leeds, but the Spaniard is not getting any younger, and the Whites could do with bringing in a player who can operate as a playmaker.
