Christian Eriksen played well for Tottenham Hotspur against Fulham in the FA Cup at the weekend.
Former Chelsea and Leicester City goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer suggested on BBC One on Sunday afternoon (February 19, 2017) that Christian Eriksen will be Tottenham Hotspur’s most important player between now and the end of the season.
Schwarzer made the comments following Tottenham’s 3-0 victory over Fulham away from home at Craven Cottage in the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The former Australia international goalkeeper was a studio guest for BBC’s live coverage of the tie.
“I think for Spurs to have a successful season, either win a cup or go further in the Europa League or finish at the very least in the top four, Eriksen has to be the one that performs well week in week out between now and the end of the season,” said Schwarzer on BBC One on Sunday afternoon (February 19, 2017).
Eriksen is one of the best creative midfielders in England and is playing well for Tottenham at the moment.
There are occasions when the Denmark international goes missing and he does need to be more consistent, but there can no doubt over his quality.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder has scored five goals and created 66 chances in 24 Premier League appearances for Tottenham so far this season.
During the 2015-16 campaign, the former Ajax star scored six goals and created 114 chances in 35 league games for Spurs.
Tottenham are third in the Premier League table at the moment with 50 points from 25 matches.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are 10 points behind leaders and London rivals Chelsea.
