West Ham United captain Mark Noble has a novel plan to keep Aaron Cresswell’s feet on the ground after his successful full England debut.

After featuring in a number of England squads but having only previously played in friendly matches, West Ham left-back Cresswell finally made his competitive Three Lions debut in the 1-0 win over Lithuania on Sunday.
Playing as a left wing-back in a midfield four, Cresswell provided a useful attacking option for Gareth Southgate’s side and was one of the bright spots in a largely forgettable display.
The former Ipswich Town defender was also denied a goal midway through the second half and showed some neat touches and provided some very good crosses.
Cresswell was understandably delighted to make his senior bow.
And now Mark Noble has revealed on Twitter how he intends to make sure it does not go to the Liverpudlian’s head.
Aaron Cresswell with Mark Noble
“Congratulations Aaron Cresswell, great honour geezer for you and the family,” Noble said on Twitter.
“You’re still making my coffee every morning though mate!”
Ironically Cresswell’s West Ham place is actually under threat from in-form Arthur Masuaku at the moment as he strives to rediscover his best form in a West Ham shirt.
Noble’s congratulatory message must surely be tinged with an element of sadness at the fact he has never received a senior call-up.

That’s despite captaining England at youth level right up to Under 21s.
With the likes of Harry Winks now blooded in the squad, perhaps Noble’s time has been and gone although you never say never in football.
