Mark Noble shares what Slaven Bilic told West Ham United’s players when leaving training for the final time

West Ham United are currently in 18th place in the Premier League table.

Mark Noble has told West Ham United’s official website that Slaven Bilic showed no sign of resentment when he departed training for the last time.

Bilic was dismissed by West Ham over two weeks ago, following his side’s 4-1 defeat to Liverpool in their last competitive match.

And Noble insists that Bilic showed no ill-feeling towards the players when he said his goodbyes.

The midfielder said: “As you know, Slaven was honest in his interviews and driving out of the training ground he told us there were no hard feelings.

“These days, it can be quite a ruthless game for a manager if they don’t get results. For the last five years, football has become a real business and if you don’t win, you pay the consequences.”

There was a feeling that Bilic was let down by West Ham’s players this season, with many coasting through matches.

West Ham’s squad have ran the shortest distance of any Premier League team in their matches so far, and the players’ lack of work rate has been heavily criticised.

Of course, Bilic will have to shoulder some responsibility for his side’s poor start – but he was hardly helped out by some member of his squad’s attitudes.

And his successor, David Moyes, will have to make sure he does a better job at motivating the West Ham squad.

West Ham are currently in 18th place in the Premier League table, and will need to find the winning formula soon if they are to move away from the relegation zone.
