The Hammers have lost five of their opening six games and conceded 11 goals in their last three fixtures.

West Ham United captain Mark Noble has said, as quoted by BBC Sport, that his side’s defending over the last three games has been “laughable” and is praying that things cannot get any worse.
The Hammers were utterly outclassed in a 3-0 defeat to Southampton in front of their own London Stadium fans on Sunday to suffer a fifth defeat from their opening six league fixtures.
They have now conceded 11 goals in their last three games following 4-2 defeats to Watford and West Ham, and in total have shipped 16 in the league this season, the worst total in the division.

It is the first time in the club’s top-flight history that they have lost five of their first six, and Noble is fully aware that things are far from good enough at the London Stadium.
He said, via BBC Sport: “If I’m honest it could have been six in the end. Adrian pulled off some good saves and, on the bright side, I don’t think it can get any worse.

“Eleven goals [conceded] in three games is laughable and it’s not good enough. We’ve got to work hard for each other and look to ourselves.”
Big things were hoped from West Ham for this season after finishing seventh last season, boasting a PFA Player of the Year nominee in Dimitri Payet, entering the Europa league qualifying stages, and moving to the London Stadium.
That has all crumbled in the opening weeks of this season, however. The Hammers crashed out of Europe at the play-off stage, the move to their new home has been something of a disaster, and they currently sit in the relegation zone.
