West Ham midfielder Josh Cullen has joined Lee Bowyer’s Charlton Athletic on loan.

West Ham United captain Mark Noble and former Hammers star Josh Cullen have both reacted on Twitter after Josh Cullen decided to leave the club on loan and join Lee Bowyer’s Charlton Athletic.
The 22-year-old broke into the West Ham side under David Moyes last season, after he was recalled from his loan with Championship side Bolton Wanderers.
But under Manuel Pellegrini it looks unlikely that the Ireland Under-21 captain will be afforded regular game time, after the Hammers completed the signings of Jack Wilshere and Carlos Sanchez.
Bowyer completed a loan for Cullen earlier this week despite thinking a deal would be too difficult to complete, and that has since seen both skipper Noble and former Wales international and goalscoring midfielder Collison react.
It remains to be seen if Cullen will play another game for West Ham, with less than 12 months remaining on his current contract at the London Stadium under Pellegrini.
After nine senior appearances for the Hammers, Cullen will be looking to help former Hammers midfielder Bowyer and Charlton gain promotion back to the Championship come May next year.
