West Ham United beat London rivals Fulham in the Premier League on Friday night.
Mark Noble has brutally admitted that West Ham should have conceded three goals in the opening 10 minutes during their 3-1 win over Fulham in the Premier League on Friday night.
The Hammers came from 1-0 down to claim all three points against their London rivals, with Ryan Babel opening the scoring after three minutes.
Prior to that strike, the former Liverpool man had a guilt-edge opportunity to score as West Ham needed to concede in order to get a grip of the match.
Speaking to Sky Sports Premier League on Friday Night Football after the match (23/02/2019), Noble admitted that his team were ‘terrible’ in the opening minutes of the match.
“To be honest, we started terribly,” Noble told Sky Sports Premier League. “They should have scored three goals in the first 10 minutes. Really poor from us.
“But look if you go 1-0 down, you have got to deal with it and I thought as soon as they scored we controlled the game.”
After Babel’s goal, Javier Hernandez equalised on the half-hour mark with replays showing that the ball hit his hand as it went into the back of the net.
Nonetheless, Manuel Pellegrini’s side continued to threaten, particularly from corners, with Issa Diop netting a towering heading from a dead ball situation just before half-time.
While Fulham had their moments in the second half, the home team clinched all three points when Michail Antonio’s well-placed header in stoppage-time was too good for opposition goalkeeper Sergio Rico.
As a result of those three points, West Ham are sitting in the top 10, four points off seventh-placed Watford and four points ahead of 12th-placed Leicester City.
