Everton have still not appointed a permanent successor to Ronald Koeman, nearly a month after his sacking.

Unsworth will take charge of his fifth match as caretaker manager since the sacking of Ronald Koeman nearly a month ago when the Toffees travel to the bottom-of-the-table Eagles.
Former Liverpool defender Lawrenson expected Everton to make a permanent appointment over the international break despite Unsworth overseeing a ‘fortuitous’ victory over Watford.

Lawrenson wrote for BBC Sport: “I am surprised that caretaker boss David Unsworth is still in charge for this game, because I thought they would appoint someone during the international break.”
“The Toffees’ most recent result – a home win against Watford – and their performance to fight back and get it, albeit fortuitously, will have lifted the club enormously.”

Everton have tried to recruit a full-time manager over the last fortnight, having failed in approaches for Watford boss Marco Silva and the out-of-work Sam Allardyce, according to the Daily Star.
The Merseyside club have lost their other three matches under Unsworth’s supervision, but it appears as though the 44-year-old is going to get a while longer to stake his claim for the hotseat.
Everton are 15th in the Premier League table, two points above the relegation zone, ahead of their trip to Selhurst Park.
