Speaking to OTB, Mark Lawrenson has been speaking about Everton and their owner Farhad Moshiri.
The Toffees have been dire this season. They’ve gotten almost everything wrong on the pitch, and sadly, the only thing worse than their on-pitch performances has been the behind the scenes running of the club.
From dodgy recruitment to the managerial appointment of Rafa Benitez, Farhad Moshiri has gotten so much wrong at Goodison Park.
According to Lawrenson, people who work for Everton actually think that Moshiri doesn’t know very much about football.
What’s been said?
Lawrenson shared what he’s heard about Moshiri.
“Recruitment, I mean they’ve had so many people in charge. The owner has had his say in it and everything and I know from the lads who live near me who work for the football club, they just say ‘well, in all honesty if you speak to the owner about football and he knows very little’, but it’s his little baby and he can dress it up however he wants to do,” Lawrenson said.

Who’s the decision-maker?
Moshiri may not know much about football, but the worrying thing is that we don’t quite know who is running the show on Merseyside.
Kevin Thelwell is the new Director of Football, Frank Lampard is the manager and Moshiri is the owner.
Somewhere in there you have Bill Kenwright’s influence, while if certain reports are to be believed Kia Joorabchian has plenty of influence at Everton as well.
Everton just don’t have a clear hierarchy at the moment, and to be honest, everything is a bit of a mess.
