Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Tottenham Hotspur will beat West Bromwich Albion 2-0 this afternoon.

The Premier League returns this weekend after a two-week international break, and Spurs travel to The Hawthorns to take on West Brom as they look to continue their unbeaten record so far this term.

General view before the match

With five wins and two draws from their seven Premier League games this season, Tottenham sit just one point behind league leaders Manchester City after beating Pep Guardiola’s side 2-0 in their last game.

Spurs will be desperate to keep that run going, but they will take on a West Brom side who can call upon former Tottenham ace Nacer Chadli, who left White Hart Lane for the Baggies in August.

Chadli has already hit three goals and two assists in four games for West Brom, and will be hoping to haunt former boss Mauricio Pochettino this afternoon.

Ahead of today’s clash, pundit Mark Lawrenson has spoken to BBC Sport, and offered his prediction for the game, forecasting a 2-0 win for Spurs.

Lawrenson stated that, whilst many were concerned about Tottenham would cope without star striker Harry Kane, they have now proven that they can challenge for title even when he’s injured, as he is now.

Lawrenson added that West Brom have been ‘solid’ so far this term with two wins and three draws in seven games, but thinks Spurs will be hard to stop this afternoon.

“For most of last season, people were asking how Spurs would do if Harry Kane got injured but now we know, and they can definitely cope without him,” said Lawrenson. “West Brom have made a solid start to the season but this Tottenham team look very convincing at the moment, and they are going to be hard to stop,” he added.
