Speaking on Off The Ball’s YouTube channel, Mark Lawrenson has expressed his sympathy for Ozan Kabak after his performance against Leicester City.
The Turkish defender had an afternoon to forget against the Foxes, making one quite sizeable error and ending up on the losing side on his debut.
Lawrenson says that every player in the Liverpool team is now making mistakes and he’s claimed he feels sorry for Kabak.
“That’s the problem with all of them at the moment, they’re all making these mistakes. I wouldn’t have called them super-human before, but now they’re making mistakes, I mentioned when Salah gave the ball away,” Lawrenson said.
“I felt sorry for the centre-back, he’s been chucked in. He’s obviously playing with Henderson, which is fine, but it’s his first game and he’s got to play against Vardy, which is very difficult for anyone at the top of the game anyway.
“I just hope that doesn’t send him back you know thinking ‘oh my goodness is this what it’s all about,’ so he’ll need some looking after as well.”

Kabak’s Liverpool career hasn’t gotten off to the best of starts, but we’ve seen so many players bounce back from poor debuts, so it’s not time to write him off yet.
As Lawrenson says, he may need a little bit of TLC now to reassure him and make sure he doesn’t lose his confidence, but he’s in an experienced group of players with a manager that knows how to handle pretty much any situation.
Fingers crossed Kabak is able to recover from this early setback in his Liverpool career and show his talents between now and the end of the season.
