The Liverpool goalkeeper’s future at Anfield is far from certain.

When speaking to BBC Radio Five Live last night, Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson admitted that he would find it strange if Jürgen Klopp chooses to keep faith in Loris Karius this summer.
The Reds stopper was at fault for two of Real Madrid’s goals in the Champions League final nine days ago, leading to many fans and pundits calling for the German to be sold this summer.

Liverpool are expected to challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title next season, but the addition of a world-class goalkeeper will surely be crucial to their hopes of doing just that.
The Merseyside outfit have already been linked with a whole host of top names, including Jan Oblak, according to Don Balon and Jasper Cillessen (Marca).
Lawrenson made his feelings on the matter very clear, when speaking to BBC Radio Five Live last night, and urged Jürgen Klopp to be decisive when it comes to deciding on Karius’ future at Anfield this summer:

“Even if Jurgen Klopp backs him, if he does I will find it strange, the supporters – every time he plays – will be waiting for him to make another mistake. Therein lies the reason they’ve got to say sorry but no thanks.”
Lawrenson certainly has a point. If Liverpool do stick with Karius, the intense pressure on the German not to make a mistake will surely be detrimental to Klopp’s side on the whole.
Signing another goalkeeper might just make the difference for the Reds next term, and unfortunately for Karius, it would likely spell the end of his career at Anfield.
