The former Liverpool defender is predicting a good second half of the season for the Foxes.
The Foxes climed to eighth in the table courtesy of Wednesday’s 4-1 win at Southampton – their fourth successive top-flight victory.
Speaking before that impressive result at St Mary’s Stadium, Lawrenson predicted that Leicester will be the best of the rest come May.
“I think they will end up in seventh place at the end of the season, which shows what a good team they are,” the former Liverpool defender told BBC Sport.
“I am not sure what new manager Claude Puel has done behind the scenes but he is getting the best out of players right through this Foxes team, who look absolutely solid.”
The only non-member of the recognised top six to sit above Leicester in the current standings are Burnley, who were beaten 1-0 at the King Power Stadium earlier this month.
Claude Puel’s side have a five-point deficit to make up on the Clarets but are well on track, with only Manchester City and Chelsea having earned more points since the Frenchman’s appointment in October.
Everton are another side who will hope to take seventh place for themselves after experiencing their own turnaround in fortunes under new manager Sam Allardyce.
On current form though, Leicester have no need to look over their shoulder and instead may have their sights set on dragging Arsenal and Liverpool back into the pack.
