Mark Lawrenson believes Everton proved their defensive quality against Manchester City last weekend.

Pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Everton will draw 1-1 away at Burnley this afternoon.
Hosts Burnley have lost three of their last four games, a run which has included 3-0 and 3-1 defeats away at Leicester City and Southampton respectively.
Burnley manager Sean Dyche
At home though, Burnley have been a little better; they’ve beaten Liverpool and Watford at Turf Moor already this term, but did lose 1-0 at home to Arsenal at the start of the month.
With just six goals scored in this season, no team has found the net on fewer occasions in the Premier League this season, and today, Sean Dyche’s men come up against a sturdy Everton defence.
The Toffees produced a battling display last weekend to claim a 1-1 draw away at Manchester City, with goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg saving two penalties before Everto’s resistance was broken by Nolito’s equaliser.
General view of Turf Moor
Everton are again on the road this afternoon, and will hope to notch a fifth win of the season as Ronald Koeman makes a strong start to life at Goodison Park.
Ahead of today’s game, pundit Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Sport that he thinks Burnley and Everton will play out a 1-1 draw this afternoon.
Lawrenson suggested that Burnley’s home form is key to their hopes of staying up, whilst he thinks Everton proved that they can defend in the face of huge pressure whilst also bein dangerous going forward against Manchester City last weekend.
Everton manager Ronald Koeman
“Burnley’s home form is becoming even more important in their bid to stay up, because they pose hardly any threat when they play away,” said Lawrenson. “I suspect Clarets boss Sean Dyche might tweak his formation to increase their attacking power but, even if he sticks with their usual 4-5-1, his side will hound the life out of Everton.”
“The Toffees showed against Manchester City last week that they can cope with sustained pressure and still look dangerous at the other end, but I see this one ending up all-square,” he added.
