Whilst Divock Origi hasn’t been a regular starter for Liverpool, he has played a quite crucial role from the bench for his team.

Mark Lawrenson has unfairly blasted Liverpool striker Divock Origi and claimed that he will be sold by the club within the next 6-18 months.

Despite playing a big part in Liverpool winning the European Cup, including scoring in the final in Madrid, Lawrenson thinks that Origi isn’t good enough for a team that is currently the Champions League winners.

Whilst Origi hasn’t been a regular for Liverpool because of the serious amount of quality ahead of him, when he has come off the bench, he has scored a number of big goals for the club.

If Origi can score some of the valuable goals he scored from the bench last season during this campaign then that’ll help Liverpool’s cause of wanting to win the Premier League title, but Lawrenson cannot see him being at the club for much longer.

“I wouldn’t mind betting you that within six months, 12 months, 18 months, that Divock Origi will be sold on,” Lawrenson told Off the Ball. “Because he’ll say he’ll want to play regular football and Liverpool will get a big fee for him. But in terms of the triumvirate with the three of them, he doesn’t really work in that triumvirate.”

“There is a difference. He isn’t quite good enough at that level. I’m not saying he’s not good enough to play for Liverpool. But we’re talking Champions League winners and he’s not of that standard.”

Origi started Liverpool’s last Premier League encounter when the Reds recorded a 1-1 draw against Manchester United – Adam Lallana would come off the bench to score a late equaliser.

The Belgian started that encounter because Mo Salah was on the sidelines with an injury, but he has since returned and he will be expected to take his regular starting role at the weekend.

Klopp’s side, who are yet to be beaten in the Premier League, will welcome Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham to Anfield, and whilst they have started the season in a poor fashion, they will still be a threat to Liverpool.
