Southampton are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship.

Southampton are 17th in the league table at the moment with 33 points from 32 matches.
The Saints are five points behind 18th-placed Cardiff City and are very much in danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
Ahead of the match against Wolverhampton Wanderers at St. Mary’s Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon, former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland international defender Lawrenson believes that the Saints need one more win to guarantee place in the top flight of English football next season.
Lawrenson wrote about Southampton on BBC Sport: “I think one more win will do it for Saints in terms of safety, but even if they don’t get it here, their run-in does not look too testing.
“They are away at Newcastle and Watford, home to Bournemouth, travel to West Ham and then host Huddersfield on the final day.”

Staving off relegation
Huddersfield Town and Fulham have already been relegated from the Premier League, and Cardiff City do appear the most likely side to join them in the Championship next season.
Southampton have a good squad, and the Saints’ recent performances and results have been quite encouraging.
