Speaking on the Official Leeds United Podcast, Mark Jackson has shared the details of the first conversation he had with Jesse Marsch.
The American replaced Marcelo Bielsa last month, and one of the first decisions he made at Elland Road was to promote Jackson to a first-team role.
Jackson says that Marsch told him straight away that he’d been promoted, stating that he was told to get to the training ground bright and early to prepare for the new regime.
What’s been said?
Jackson shared what it’s like to work with the new manager.
“It’s been great. I spoke to him for the first game when I was down at the Spurs game, and he said ‘listen, I have some bad news for you, you’re going to have to be in first thing in the morning because you’re going to have to support us.’ We would have been in anyway because we’re in first thing anyway under Marcelo. He’s a really positive coach and manager and he’s really really open,” Jackson said.

Prepared
The fact that Marsch immediately promoted Jackson just goes to show how prepared he was to take the Leeds job.
Marsch knew that he needed someone alongside him that knows the club and could help with the transition, and Jackson is the perfect man for that job.
It’s seemingly worked a treat, Leeds have won their last two games and seem to be pulling away from the relegation battle.
Marsch got to work quickly, and that’s helped him transform Leeds’ fortunes.
