Mark Hughes told BBC One (26/06/21 at 4:35 pm) that he has been ‘very impressed’ by reported Leeds and Tottenham target, Mikkel Damsgaard.
The 20-year-old has been lighting up Euro 2020 and it’s no surprise that the likes of Leeds and Tottenham are hunting for his talents.
On Saturday, Denmark thrashed Wales 4-0 to qualify for the quarter-finals, with the 20-year-old supplying the assist for the opening goal.
SampNews24 have previously claimed that Tottenham’s newly-appointed sporting director, Fabio Paratici, is a keen admirer of the Sampdoria superstar.
Whilst the Daily Star have also claimed that Leeds, Southampton and West Ham have joined the race for his quick-thinking talents.
The £30 million-rated man is certainly grabbing the attention of the neutral, as former Premier League boss, Hughes, had this to say about Damsgaard yesterday.
“I have been really impressed with him,” said Hughes. “He has great technical skill.
“He likes to operate on either side. You saw him on the left and he’s on the right-hand side, at times, as well.
“He gets into good areas and it looks like he has a goal in him – I have been very impressed.”

As Tottenham fans will be delighted to hear, Damsgaard does have a bit of Christian Eriksen about his game.
The Inter Milan title-winner was a fan favourite during his time in North London and Spurs are certainly craving that technically-gifted midfielder sitting in the pockets and causing mayhem.
Plus, on the international stage, he has the rock of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg behind him, so he already has that understanding with the popular Spurs man.
But someone like Leeds, with their 100 miles per hour steam train led by Marcelo Bielsa, will feel his forward-thinking talents would help elevate them further ahead of the new season.
Either way, if Damsgaard continues to shine at Euro 2020 then it will probably only increase his chances of making a move this summer.
