Southampton head to Leicester City tomorrow in desperate need of all three points.
Southampton manager Mark Hughes addressed the media today, ahead of his side’s clash with Leicester City in the Premier League tomorrow night, and shared what he has told his players ahead of what is a crucial five-game run, as quoted by the Daily Mail.
The Saints currently sit in 18th spot in the Premier League table, and are five points adrift of safety, having not won a league game since February 3rd.
In fact, they have only won five Premier League games all season long, and that is quite simply not good enough.
It seems as though years of selling their best players has finally caught up with them.
Hughes, though, remained upbeat when speaking to reporters today, and shared what he has told his players ahead of their clash with the Foxes at the King Power Stadium tomorrow night, as quoted by the Daily Mail:
“The situation we’re in we need performances and points. The message I have given to the players is to enjoy the challenge, it’s not an easy situation but get out there and show people what you are about. I’ve been really pleased with how the players have reacted to my appointment and I think there’s a real determination to retain our Premier League status.”
The south coast outfit would need to win four of their remaining five games to reach the magical 40 point mark, and with games against Leicester, Bournemouth, Everton and Swansea, that is certainly not outside the realms of possibility.
