Mark Hughes has said on Stadium Astro that clubs who want to sign Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane will not find it easy.

The former Stoke City and Southampton manager has said that through his own experience, he knows how hard Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is in regard to negotiations.

With Spurs not having the best of seasons and in danger of missing out on the Premier League top four, there is speculation that Kane could leave.

The Athletic has claimed that the 27-year-old striker will push for a move away from Spurs if the club do not finish in the Champions League places this season.

Manchester City and Manchester United are interested in the England international striker, according to The Independent, as covered by HITC Sport.

Hughes said on Stadium Astro: “Whenever they are in negotiations with other clubs, as I have known through my own experience, they always drive a hard bargain.

“So whoever wants to come and speculate or try and take Harry Kane from Tottenham will have to work very, very hard to be able to do it.”

Tottenham Hotspur have the upperhand

It is hard to see Kane put in a transfer request and force a move away from Spurs. After all, the striker has been at the club his entire professional club football career so far.

Spurs will have the upperhand in any negotiations. If Spurs do not want to sell Kane, then they will not.
