The Stoke City boss suggested the club were still actively pursuing the West Bromwich Albion star.

Stoke City manager Mark Hughes has been discussing his club’s move for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, in footage shown by Sky Sports.
The former Wales boss was reluctant to discuss the player at length, but did confirm Stoke’s continued interest in the Baggies star.
“He’s a player at another club so we don’t want to comment too much,” Hughes is seen telling Sky Sports interviewers.
“We’ve put bids in as we stand, those haven’t been accepted yet but we’re still hopeful on that one.”

The Potters are one of several clubs to have been closely linked to the 22-year-old this summer, with Berahino’s future still uncertain after a hugely disruptive 12 months of his career.
The former England Under-21 international had a superb season for the Baggies in 2014-15, plundering 20 goals at the Hawthorns outfit, but with a mooted move to Tottenham failing to come to fruition last summer, Berahino struggled for starts and goals last season, scoring seven in 32 matches.

The current transfer window has seen Stoke battling London duo Crystal Palace and Watford for the forward, and Hughes admission of interest and determination to continue his pursuit of the player certainly falls in line with suggestions that the Potters are favourites for the player, with BBC Sport saying yesterday that they had made a £20 million bid.
