Rangers legend Mark Hateley sat down for an exclusive interview with the Daily Record, and suggested that the Gers are in a win-win situation regarding Alfredo Morelos.

The Colombian hitman joined the Glasgow giants from HJK Helsinki in the summer of 2017, and he has gone on to score 48 goals in 91 appearances in all competitions.

The Rangers striker’s time at Ibrox has not been free of controversy, however, with five red cards to his name over the course of two seasons.

Morelos has been linked with an exit from Ibrox this summer, although Rangers will demand at least £20 million for his signature, according to the Daily Record.

And Hateley suggested that Rangers cannot lose, whether Morelos stays or leaves this summer, when speaking exclusively to the Daily Record:

Alfredo Morelos of Rangers is seen prior to the Betfred League Cup Quarter Final at Firhill Stadium on September 19, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

“Whether Alfredo stays or goes it is a win-win situation for Rangers. It’s a great problem to have and it’s not a problem we’ve had recently. You always want to keep players who score goals. There will be a number of clubs coming in for a number of Rangers players this summer – without a shadow of a doubt. It depends whether that number is the right number because everyone has a right number.”

Steven Gerrard will surely not want to lose Morelos, but if an offer in the region of £20 million is submitted for his services this summer, it might be extremely hard for the Rangers boss to turn it down.

It is the kind of money that could totally transform Rangers as a team. Having said that, however, losing someone like Morelos would surely be a real blow for them at the same time.
