Gerrard was appointed the Rangers manager in the summer of 2018, and the Liverpool legend has done a wonderful job at Ibrox so far.
Rangers are at the top of the Scottish Premiership table at the moment and have also progressed to the group stage of the Europa League for the second season in a row.
Former Rangers striker Hateley has hailed Gerrard for the impact he has made at Ibrox.
Hateley told The Glasgow Evening Times about Gerrard: “He got Rangers straight away, which was important. He knows how much it means to the fans and what the fans mean to the club, it is similar to Liverpool in that sense. He understands Rangers and to be where we are right now is great to see.
“This club has been sleeping, shall we say, for a while, but it has well and truly been woken now. All I can say is that Steven has played a massive part in waking this club up.”
Big influence on Rangers
Gerrard is one of the greatest midfielders of all time, and the Liverpool legend has been brilliant as a manager for Rangers.
The former England international midfielder gets what Rangers are all about, and there is no surprise that the Ibrox faithful have taken to him already.
Rangers can and will get better under Gerrard, and perhaps this season they will win the Scottish Premiership title.
