Liverpool youngster Marko Grujic has explained to the club’s official website why he was pictured looking so surprised by Jordan Henderson’s wonder goal against Chelsea.
Henderson was the star of the show in the 2-1 win over Antonio Conte’s side on Friday evening as he curled in a superb second for his side in the game.
It was a goal of the season contender and sparked wild celebrations from the Liverpool captain.
The Reds bench were equally impressed, including Grujic, who was caught on camera wearing a disbelieving look at the quality of the strike.
Now, he has moved to explain just why he was so surprised, insisting it was justified as far as he was concerned.
“When Jordan first shot, [the ball bent] so far from the goal but then I saw it go in the net and I was shocked – a nice shocked!” he told the club’s official website.
“He scored one of the best goals I’ve ever seen in my life. My reaction was the truth and that’s why I made a strange face but it was a nice goal, one of the best I’ve seen.”

Liverpool will now be hoping that captain Henderson has more of the same in his locker in the remainder of this season.
He has registered the fewest shots on target of any Reds midfielder this season but showed his ability to find the back of the net with this strike.
Indeed, the Reds will be more than happy to see him remain bottom of the table when it comes to the number of shots on target if can produce goals of this quality in the big games once again.
