Leeds loanee made his comeback for under-23s.

Leeds United loanee Izzy Brown made his surprise first appearance in a White shirt at the end of last week.

Brown’s comeback for the under-23s will be remembered for the wrong reasons, with Chelsea compatriot Jamal Blackman suffering a broken leg.

The contrasting fortunes with Brown are inescapable, but Leeds have to think positive.

Izzy Brown had suffered a torn ACL in January and Leeds took a chance on him in the summer, with the hope he may be able to contribute to the first team in 2019.

His under-23 appearance was a step in the right direction and he posted a message on Twitter expressing his happiness to be back on the pitch.

Brown received a message in reply from former Premier League forward Mark Bright.

The former Sheffield Wednesday forward offered his encouragement to Brown.

Brown may have a chance of making an appearance for Leeds’ first team in December, but the Whites are not going to rush him before he is ready.

He must continue to build up his fitness in under-23 games and in training sessions.

Being ready for the under-23s and being prepared for Championship action are two very different things.
