Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has brought Jermain Defoe to Ibrox on loan.
Alfredo Morelos of Rangers
Allen, though, has suggested that Rangers do not plan to sell Morelos in the January transfer window.
Allen told talkSPORT about Morelos: “Ultimately Alfredo will want to play at a different level, our job is to hold onto him for as long as we can.
“There’s no intention of letting him go right now and we’ll see where the future takes him.”

Jermain Defoe signing
Morelos is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership and has been playing well for Steven Gerrard’s side so far this season.
Given that the Colombia international striker is only 22 years of age, the talented and promising youngster will only get better in the coming years.
Allen’s aforementioned comments suggest just why Rangers signed Jermain Defoe on an 18-month loan deal from Bournemouth.
It seems that Rangers are planning for Morelos’s exit, probably in the summer of 2019 and next January, and the Gers have signed a replacement in Defoe.
Defoe is a proven goalscorer, and despite being 36 years of age, the former West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur striker remains as fit as ever and should be able to score a lot of goals for Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
