Leeds are interested in Mario Pasalic.

According to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Leeds are battling to sign Mario Pasalic from Chelsea.

Pasalic is available on a season long loan deal and the Whites face competition from both Lazio and Valencia.

Beating teams of that calibre to Pasalic’s signature would be quite remarkable for Leeds, but joining the Whites could also be a shrewd move for the midfielder.

Since signing for Chelsea in 2014, Pasalic has been sent on a series on loans, each abroad, with Elche, Monaco and most recently AC Milan.

Yet if Pasalic has ambitions of making it in Chelsea’s first team, he needs to gain experience playing English football.

Pasalic is a truly exciting talent, already a Croatia international, the 22-year-old is a central midfielder with a knack for scoring goals.

He has been compared to his idol Frank Lampard, with Four Four Two reporting how his box to box style making him an ideal long term replacement for the Chelsea legend.

Pasalic is one of several names to be linked with signing for Leeds over the past fortnight, but he could be the most exciting of all.

He netted five goals in Serie A for AC Milan in 21 games last season and could make a big impact in the Championship.

On a season long loan, if Pasalic is open to moving to Leeds, it would be a no brainer for the Whites to push through a deal.
