Wolverhampton Wanderers have been thriving in their first season in the Premier League under manager Nuno Espirito Santo.

Mario Melchiot has interestingly claimed that Wolves’ midfield doesn’t need to have ‘hard workers’ because of the ‘calmness’ of Joao Moutinho.
The former Birmingham City player waxed-lyrical about Nuno Espirito Santo’s style of play and stated that his team are a ‘joy to watch’.
Following their promotion to the Premier League last summer, Nuno’s side have showcased their talent on the pitch by producing a number of standout displays, including beating Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley.
Speaking to the Football Centre on Sky Sports News (25/02/2019 at 12:55 pm), former defender Melchoit offered his thoughts on the high-flying Midlands club.
“It’s exciting [Nuno’s team],” Melchoit told Sky Sports News. “He’s got a cool team. When I watch them, Jimenez and Jota up front. Those guys are full of energy.
“Then the midfield. When they go away from home people would think ‘oh, maybe you have to have a bit more hard workers in the middle’.
“But Moutinho is the one that pulls the ball to him [Neves] and dictates matches. He brings a bit of calmness into the middle of the park. But they have enough and away from being tough to beat, they have skill, energy and it’s a joy to watch them.”

Summer signing Moutinho has been utilised on a regular basis by Nuno this term as he has added experience to the middle of the park. But fan favourite Ruben Neves remains the star of the show in midfield.
At this moment in time, Wolves are sitting in the Premier League’s top 10 and if they continue their ways they can end up finishing seventh in what will end up being a stunning debut campaign for Nuno in England’s top-flight.
Added with that, they are in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup, with Manchester United set to visit Molineux next month. Watford, Crystal Palace, Swansea and Manchester City are the other teams remaining in the competition.
Nonetheless, Wolves will be preparing for their Tuesday night trip to the Premier League’s bottom-of-the-table club, Huddersfield Town as they will be looking to leapfrog seventh-placed Watford, who take on leaders Liverpool on Wednesday night.
