Dele Alli was back on the scoresheet when Tottenham Hotspur were last in Premier League action.

Mario Melchiot has praised the qualities of Dele Alli and claimed that the ‘exceptional’ Tottenham Hotspur man needs to start playing ‘a lot of games’.
For the past 12 months or so, Alli’s form for Spurs has dipped and he has been unable to rediscover the performances that won him plaudits during the early part of his career in North London.
But in recent games, Mauricio Pochettino has selected him in the starting XI, as he is getting more minutes under his belt and showing glimpses of his old self.
Former Chelsea defender Melchiot had nothing but high praise for Alli, as he stated that Spurs need him back to their best if he is to provide them with that extra bite they need.
“I have always been a close watcher of Dele because he has always been an exceptional player,” Melchoit told Match Analysis. “The only thing I would say with Dele, especially when he came to the scene, the way he did that and the goals he scored, the guy has something in his game.
“He’s very intelligent. His fear level is incredible. If he faces a player, I always feel that he has that confidence to say ‘I’m better than you’. And I like seeing that with players. He plays like that. I want him fit.
“I want him playing a lot of games because then he gets back to his rhythm. You know those late goals that he scores, moments when the team struggles, he will come up with a goal. I think as long as we can get him closer to that again then we have an exciting player. I’m sure Pochettino would like the same.”

Alli scored in the Premier League last time out and he will be hoping to add another goal to his name on Sunday afternoon.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side take on Premier League leaders Liverpool at Anfield and this is a game that is tailor-made for someone like Alli.
In previous seasons, he has always showcased the ability to step up in big games for Spurs and he will be hoping to score one of his typical goals at Anfield by making one of those late runs into the penalty area.
