Everton could still have an incredible transfer window if a double deal comes off.

There isn’t long left in the summer transfer window but it could still be a brilliant one for Everton.

The Toffees have only spent some £30 million across three signings – Fabian Delph, Andre Gomes and free agent Jonas Lossl – but bigger things could yet be happening at Goodison.

Everton have been linked with a move for £70 million-rated Wilfried Zaha [The Evening Standard] and The Echo have linked Marco Silva with wanting Croatia and Juventus marksman Mario Mandzukic on Merseyside.

With 17 days left in the window, a double deal might not happen, but if Director of Football Marcel Brands pulls it off then it’s a game-changer for the club.

It would give Silva the opportunity to field a three-pronged attack of Richarlison, Zaha and Mandzukic in the middle – a trio capable of scoring a lot of goals.

Hell, Richarlison and Zaha scored 23 between them last season.

Nobody is suggesting that it’s a trident worthy of challenging the Mane-Firmino-Salah axis on the red half of Merseyside, but it’s a damn good trinity nonetheless and one that would turn Everton into serious challengers for a Champions League spot.
