Mario Gotze played under Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp at Borussia Dortmund.

Gotze started his progressional club football career at Dortmund and worked with Klopp at the German club.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder moved to Bayern Munich in 2013, but he could not progress and develop as much as he would have liked to, and returned to Dortmund in 2016 for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £22 million.
The Germany international, who has won the Bundesliga twice with Dortmund and thrice with Bayern and the World Cup in 2014, has suggested that he is open to playing under Klopp again, while revealing that the German coach wanted him at Anfield.

Goal.com quotes Gotze as saying: “I decided to leave Bayern and Jurgen Klopp was interested in getting me to Liverpool. And I was also interested in working with him again.
“It’s still existing. He is a world-class coach and that’s why it’s always an option. I decided to join Borussia Dortmund, but it was not a decision against Liverpool or Jurgen Klopp. But on the contrary.”

No space in Liverpool attack?
Gotze is a brilliant and sensational footballer, and the attacking midfielder can still develop and improve.
While the German would be a stunning signing for Liverpool, the Reds’ attack is already strong, and there is no space for him, at least not right now.
